Artist Statement:

My work as an artist and my obsession with the ocean has been a lifelong journey. The coast and horizon, lines between land and sea, what lives beneath and floats atop, I find magical and inspiring. When I paint I find my sense of peace.

Artist Biography:

Susan Dodge is the Director of ArcWorks Community Art Center, where she curates exhibits at the ArcWorks Gallery and Breaking Grounds Caf on Main Street, in downtown Peabody, MA. Susan coordinates and teaches art in the Discover & Design program of Northeast Arc for adults with disabilities. A board member of the Peabody Cultural Collaborative, the organization recently created "Curious City", a pop up children's museum in Peabody, a grant funded by Essex County Creates Foundation. Born and raised in Marblehead, Susan's family's has lived in the town since the late 1800's. Susan Dodge graduated in1985 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art & Design. Susan created The Artful Dodger, a custom designed murals, tiles and pottery with her own signature line. Artful Dodger pottery sold in galleries across America, to include, ABC Carpet & Home and Peet's Coffee from 1995-2002. Exploring the elements of water, her paintings of the ocean, with swimmers, bathers, and fish are colorful, buoyant and mystical. In 2018, Susan was chosen to be a muralist in three projects, "El Punto" in downtown Salem, "Outside the Box" and "Play Me a Tune" in downtown Peabody. Susan's portfolio projects include 55 paintings at The Breakers Hotel, Palm Beach, Florida, the poster design for 2016 the Berkshire Opera Festival, and commissioned paintings for celebrity Chef Thomas Keller, and other private collections.

Item Special Note

Pick-up of purchased cods will be July 9-14 at Lizzy Loo, 108 Washington St, Marblehead during normal store hours. The winning bidder will receive a notification email with information on pick-up time and location.

If winning bidder requires shipping, winner's credit card will be charged a separate $24.95 fee to cover USPS ground and handling. Shipping is available within the U.S. only and must be requested within 7 days after receipt of the notification email.

Any cod purchased via "Buy Now" will remain on display at the hosting business through the end of the auction, and will be available for pick-up as detailed in the winning bidder notification email.

If winning bidder has not picked up cod (or provided shipping address) within 30 days after the close of the auction, cod will become the property of Marblehead Festival of Arts, Inc.
