Item Description

"One Fish" by Tammy Picone Nohelty

Medium: Mixed Media

Size: 19" x 8"

Artist Statement:

My recent series of encaustic mixed media paintings are a journey of personal, spiritual and emotional exploration. The work represents a personal dialogue between the visible and the invisible. The colors, shapes, textures of distant memories are incorporated into each painting. It's the interaction between the embedded images and the ambiguous visual depth the encaustic medium that creates a spiritual connection from what is seen and unseen. The fragments of memories and messages that are almost visible are captured in a visually vague state. Each piece represents its own small expression of my current journey of grief and healing and together the pieces present a larger narrative of the gift of this spiritual experience.
