"Cod-a-Tack" by Debbie Frost
Medium: Mixed media, block print on paper, acrylic paint, copper tacks
Size: 19" x 8"
As someone who grew up in Marblehead, there have been two constants in my life that always make me happy. These two things are the ocean and nature. These two constants are visible in all of my work - be it a batik garment, painting, or ceramic. I love to create, because it simply makes me happy. Incorporating the things I love into my work makes me the happiest.
Debbie Ekholm Frost was born in Seattle, WA, but grew up in Marblehead and graduated from Marblehead High School in 1977. She studied textile design at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and graduated in 1981. She now lives in Salem with her husband and Maine Coon cat. Debbie is the owner of LizzyLoo and Friends on Washington Street in Marblehead, and she works in the back workshop creating delightful batik clothing and accessories for the whole family.
