When we started making our own premium spirits, we knew they had to be something we’d be proud to put the ‘Beattie’ name on.
That meant controlling every step of the process from start to finish, and that’s why we put the still right next to our potato fields: we know exactly what goes in to every bottle we make. Growing, peeling, mashing and distilling our crop onsite lets us give the product the respect it deserves.
It also means we don’t have to worry about transporting goods everywhere, so we’re leaving much less of a carbon footprint.
For distilleries in Ontario, it’s as farm-to-table as it gets.
Every batch starts right here, with the same hearty, sustainable crop our family’s been harvesting for 5 generations.
Turning potatoes into Beattie’s Farm-Crafted Vodka isn’t easy. Unlike wheat, rye and corn, potatoes don’t like to release their sugars and starches without a fight. Honestly put, they’re harder and more expensive to deal with. Most others wouldn’t bother, but we know exactly what to do with them.
When you put in the work, the result is a creamy, buttery taste and feel that’s completely unique to potato vodka. There’s also no “burn” like you’ve probably experienced with other alcohols.
Potatoes just make a better spirit, plain and simple. So we think it’s worth going against the grain. It’s how we’ve always done things.
