Item Description
Adriano Manocchia
Title: A Perfect Day
Size: 9" x 12"
Medium: Oil
Painted: 2019
"My paintings are my emtions; I paint what attracts me. And it is that incessant search for the visually stimulating that makes this voyage exciting. While painting places I've observed, I enhance my images through compositional means, bringing them closer to ideals upheld in a bygone age of painting. In my work, I try and leave the complexity of life behind."
Adriano Manocchia was born in New York City in 1951. After receiving his University degree, he spent 12 years as a photojournalist traveling the world to cover news events. In 1984, Adriano put down the camera and turned his attention to fine art painting, adopting the techniques of the Old Masters and quickly receiving the attention of critics worldwide. The majority of his work deals with the sporting life: hunting, wildlife, and fishing.
Adriano's work is in major private collections. Today, he and his wife Teresa live on a 36-acre farm, 3 hours north of NYC and he spends many hours chasing trout on the Battenkill River and The Owlkill which runs through is farm. Some of his paintings can be seen at www.adriano-art.com
