Item Description
“Home is not where you are born, it’s where all your attempts to escape come to an end.” - Naguib Mahfouz (1911-2006)
Your winning bid will secure the legal services of Sharon J. Phillips, Attorney at Law to prepare a naturalization application for an immigrant artist. (The artist will pay the government filing fee for the application).
When the naturalization process is completed – probably in late 2020 or early 2021 - you will receive a signed art print (as pictured) as a thank-you. Display it in your home or office, or donate it to MCS!
The artist fled his country of origin where he was in peril due to his activism. He currently has a green card and is eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship. Let’s welcome him home.
Special instructions - Sharon also offers preparation of a naturalization application as a separate auction item that is available to members of the MCS community and to her own current and former clients. Last year, an MCS parent asked Sharon if parents could pool resources and bid for her service as a group, and then give the service to someone who needs it. This auction entry was developed in response. If you decide to bid as a group, the artist will (at the winner’s option) provide up to five (5) t-shirts bearing the pictured image as an alternative to the signed print.
