We are a small, family-owned enterprise making limited-production wines from our certified organic vineyard in the Napa Carneros. Our name, Adastra, is taken from the Latin saying Per aspera, ad astra which translates to "Through striving, to the stars." Chris and Naomi Thorpe own the Adastra Vineyard, their daughter Catherine Thorpe and husband Edwin Richards own the wine business; Edwin has made all the wines since 2016.

Our twelve-acre organic vineyard has been certified organic by the CCOF since 2005.

From 50 cases in 1995 to fewer than 1,500 cases per year today, our focus has always been on producing the highest quality estate-grown Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. When the stars are aligned, we are able to produce our ultra-premium Proximus Pinot Noir. In addition to the Adastra label, our portfolio includes the Boundless Optimism and Ed's Red brands.
Come and visit our tasting room – ADASTRA Wine & Art on the Sonoma Plaza – Chris is usually there. It's from here that we sell most of our wine to visitors, wine club members and friends from around the world.
