Raju the Elephant Gift Bag
In July 2019, Raju and his supporters celebrated the fifth anniversary of his rescue and retirement to Wildlife SOS. To commemorate the event, the organization commissioned several Raju items as "thank you gifts" for new monthly donors, and they have now gracioiusly donated this Raju Gift Bag for our auction:
1) Plush Raju – This adorable stuffed toy was custom made for Raju. Note the happy tear under his left eye, and the date of his rescue embroidered on his foot. About 13” tall and 8” wide.
2) Raju coin – Limited edition antique-brass style in protective case. “Raju Forever Free” in Hindi on reverse side.
3) Raju socks – Show your love for Raju with these unique unisex socks. One size fits most.
4) Bonus elephant key chain! Not Raju, but a wonderful and whimsical beaded and tasseled key chain made by the Kalandar community in India. The Kalandar people had a 400-year tradition of “dancing bears,” but after working with Wildlife SOS, there are no more dancing bears in India! Wildlife SOS rescued more than 600 bears and will care for them for the rest of their lives. In return for transferring the bears, the organization has trained the Kalandar people in other trades. Making and selling crafts, like this key chain, is just one example, and helps support them in their new vocation.
