Item Description
Locally made in Virginia by Bill Pearson, Heather Ashley’s dad! He sells his work in front of his home in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
There were only about 10 of these birdhouses made before the wood was all gone. The sides are gray and teal roughed up beadboard. He believes it might have been taken from an old kitchen. Then there is talk of it being found in a scrap pile. After a few years they are now roughed up and made the perfect rustic style look to these birdhouses.
An original handmade bird house that you will never find again.
The roof of the birdhouse is thick wood with removable screws should you wish to cleanup the old nests. Slanted roof to repel the rain and snow.
It has a wire hanger.
10 inches tall
7 inches wide
1.5 inch hole
The bird opening is 1.5 inches.
Many wild birds prefer entrance holes that range between 1 and 1 1/2 inches in diameter. The chickadee prefers 1 1/8-inch diameter openings, the titmouse, Bewick's wren, and the downy woodpecker look for homes with 1 1/4-inch diameter openings.
