Meet Marie Levine, Author and International Shark & Marine Life Conservationist, for lunch or dinner, in Princeton, New Jersey
This is a unique opportunity to “talk shark” one-on-one with Marie Levine, Founder of the Shark Research Institute, the first shark conservation organization in the USA. She has studied and worked with white sharks and whale sharks in South Africa and has dived with sharks in 44 countries during the past 30+ years, and successfully advocated for sharks and other endangered species at the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Flora and Fauna (CITES) for more than a decade.
In the mid-1980s, while studying sharks in South Africa, she re-opened the South African Shark Attack File, interviewing more than 1,200 victims, witness and medical personnel. Today she also serves as Curator of the Global Shark Attack File (aka Global Shark Accident File).
Marie has authored scientific publications, children’s books, and edited and/or illustrated numerous books on marine life for the American Littoral Society, Ashanti Books, DK publishing, Scholastic and Random House. A Fellow of the the famed Explorers Club for the past 20 years, she has led Explorers Club Flag Expeditions to South Africa, The Philippines, India and Tonga. She was also elected to the Women Divers Hall of Fame and served on its board.
Note: The winning bidder travels to the Princeton area and they meet at a mutually-agreeable place, time and date within one year of the close of this auction. The winning bidder pays for Marie’s lunch or dinner and may bring two guests.
