Hi. My name is Chris Wells and I help people write.

I do this in a couple of ways: I work one on one with people who have projects and goals in mind and need help or support moving forward. And, I lead dynamic, life-changing writing workshops.

I tell folks that I'm not really a writing teacher but rather a creative midwife who helps people get to the core of their project and process. I do this through a series of conversations, investigations, exercises and homework. WRITING LIFE is designed to explore a person's work (and their ideas around their work) while getting them to make huge strides on the project at hand. The weekends are highly structured; we work swiftly and deeply and, the results can be astonishing.

I am a warm, insightful guide with a deep understanding of creative practice and the challenges that greet us when we endeavor to make anything. Over the years of developing the workshop, I've learned that my greatest assets are: the ability to really hear what people are saying they want to make; a clear vision for how each person's work can move forward and; the ability to guide them toward that.

The Workshop is designed for writers of all kinds, at any stage. All that is required is a willingness to write and one idea that you will commit to for the duration of our time together.
