Item Description
Generously donated by Katie Griffin, this country cottage is located on a family farm along the banks of the Middle River in Spring Hill. It is the perfect retreat for nature lovers who want to relax in the country. If you want to take a break from reading, writing, and relaxing, you are just a short ride from downtown Staunton, biking & hiking trails and several local vineyards and breweries.
The Space: Guests have the entire cottage to themselves. This includes a bedroom with full size bed, full kitchen, and bathroom. There is also a screened sleeping porch with cots. If you enjoy canoeing and fishing, you will have direct access to the Middle River. Owners have a two-person Old Town Canoe and will arrange a float trip if you are interested. A place to grill out and have a campfire, along with firewood will be provided. The owners will also provide your choice of farm fresh beef or pork and fresh country eggs.
Guest Access: There is no TV or wi-fi *gasp*. Actually, that’s the appeal, come unplug in the country!
Other things to note: This is a working farm with cattle and horses. You might have a dog greet you or pay you a visit. Also, the road to the cottage is dirt/gravel, usually a car does fine (driving slowly). However, if there is a lot of rain and weather, 4WD/AWD is suggested.

Local winners must contact Waynesboro YMCA to schedule pickup of all items. All items must be picked up with valid ID by 5:00 p.m. Eastern on Friday, May 15, 2020.
For winners outside of Waynesboro (zip 22980), winner must call Waynesboro YMCA to arrange pickup of item or pay full cost of packing & shipping item in addition to winning bid amount. All items must be picked up with valid ID or packing/shipping paid & delivery made by 5:00 p.m. Eastern on Friday, May 22, 2020.
Non-tangible items (vacations/experiences/tickets) will be emailed to winning bidder.
