His latest book is Quantum Legacies: Dispatches from an Uncertain World (2020).

Alan Guth is a professor of Physics, his research focussed on Cosmology. From his work on elementary particles in the early universe, he invented a modifcation of the big bang theory called the inflationary universe.  He has won many awards, including the 2014 Kavli Prize awarded by the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, for “pioneering the theory of cosmic inflation.”

Kaiser and Guth co-direct a research group on early-universe cosmology; the group’s recent efforts to conduct a “Cosmic Bell” test of quantum entanglement were featured in a documentary film, “Einstein’s Quantum Riddle,” which premiered on PBS in 2019.
