Item Description

Pond Farmer Mosaic Sculpture made by Kim Collet

13 inches by 10 inches wide. Has a flat bottom and is heavy.

Perfect for displaying as outdoor yard art.

Kim Collet was an artist-in-residence at Pond Farm in October 2019. She created this unique sculpture with pieces of broken pottery provided by Pond Farmers: Frank Philipps, Caryn Fried, James Dahl, Brian Martens and Bill Geisinger.

"I had a wonderful time at Pond Farm. I hiked and sketched, painted and worked on the mosaic piece. The second day there I discovered in the books about Marguerite and Pond Farm, that my fresco and mosaic mentors, Steve and Lucienne Dimitroff, taught and created a fresco at the newly opened Guerneville School in the first year of the summer artist workshops having been recruited by the Herrs. This gave me a deeper sense of connection to Pond Farm and Marguerite.

Then on October 23rd, I woke in the night smelling smoke, as the crow flies I was about 10 miles from the Kincade fire in Geyserville. Smoke continued for a couple of days then we were evacuated. So my time was cut short. Now looking back from all that we have collectively experienced this year, I am even more grateful to have had that magical retreat."
