Artist bio
Julie Shapiro has exhibited extensively, including solo exhibitions at Elizabeth Harris Gallery, Smith College, The Painting Center and Francine Seders Gallery and group exhibitions at The Drawing Center, Weatherspoon Museum and Brooklyn Museum, among others. She has been awarded Pollock Krasner and Boshen Porter grants and residency fellowships at Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Redline Milwaukee, VCCA and Yaddo. Her work is included in numerous collections. Shapiro received an MFA in painting/printmaking from Yale School of Art, and attended Yale Summer School of Art, Norfolk. She taught at SMU, Dallas, TX and Hampshire College, MA and has been a Visiting Artist at colleges throughout the country.
