Item Description

Title: Dancing in the Moonlight

Artist: Elissa Lincoln (Emerging Artist and recipient of Beverly Cultural Council grant)

Materials: Bass is 3ft x 1.5ft and made of .5in Kleer (PVC). Layered acrylic paints.

Artist's Description: As I began the painting process, I knew I wanted to use a deep blue on the bass, but have it allude to the sky and nighttime rather than the ocean. I love painting leaves and floral imagery, so the composition flowed naturally, enclosing a sleepy figure in the center. I hoped to convey a sense of mystery, lyricism, and deep restfulness all at once.

About the Artist: Elissa is an artist and art educator living in Beverly. She works with graphite, acrylic, and collage, and has recently been trying her hand at sculpture. Her work is inspired by nature, memories, and nostalgia.
