Item Description

Title: Salem Sound

Artist: Michael Miller

Materials: Bass is 3ft x 1.5ft and made of .5in Kleer (PVC). Both sides of the Bass are digital photographs of Salem Sound. They are printed on an archival matte paper with pigment inks and archivally mounted to the PVC bass cutout. They are waterproofed and UV protected with an acrylic coating.

Artist's Description: My bass is composed of two photographs taken of Salem Sound. The front is a long exposure sunrise over Salem Sound. The back is an abstract of a wave crashing on the beach. Both photographs are printed on an archival matte paper with pigment inks and archivally mounted to the PVC bass cutout. They are coated with a UV acrylic coating, which creates a waterproof barrier, and finished with several coatings of marine wax for extra protection.

About the Artist: Michael Miller is associate professor of photography at Endicott College and runs a fine art photography business specializing in nautical scapes and seascapes.
