Item Description

Title: Oceanic Quartzite

Artist: Rachael Babineau

Materials: Bass is 3ft x 1.5ft and made of .5in Kleer (PVC). Acrylic fluid paint pour with gold trimmed in vinyl.

Artist's Description: The colors I chose are orange, blue and teal with white marbled to look like stone. Designer Bath’s colors are Blue and Orange, so I wanted to represent the business which sponsored the fish on that level. Abstract placement of scales and gold accents to bring out the details of the fish but making it punky. Nature creates these one-of-a-kind patterns in stone that I wanted to play with using the acrylic pour method. Adding specks of iridescent to create a mica effect with a leathered texture.

About the Artist: Rachael is a crafty mom, who enjoys exploring different mediums and techniques, and making a mess in her kitchen in the process.
