Components: Antique brass fire extinguisher, Victorian swing-arm drapery brackets, vintage kerosene lamp component, vintage brass garden hose nozzle, vintage oil reservoir, decorative antique candle
holder, antique clock gears, radio vacuum tube, antique “Rex” bicycle head-badge, vintage brass lamp stand.
About the Artist:
David Random graduated in 1969 with a Fine Arts degree from The Massachusetts College of Art. A resident of Portsmouth, NH, He began creating his Steampunk “Retro Rockets” based on a childhood fascination with Jules Verne and Flash Gordon. His fantasy rocketships are created from antique and vintage re-purposed artifacts, and are combined with special attention to conformity of shape, vintage, and materials. His rockets have been featured in museums and galleries from Maine to Florida as well as on TV and in Movies. One such film entitled “Rocketship” was screened all over the country, winning many awards and was also featured on Virgin Airways in-flight movies for almost a year.
