About the Artist:
From a very young age, Barrett McDevitt has been creating art. Attending the University of New Hampshire in Durham in the early 80's, Barrett was extremely fortunate to study drawing and watercolor painting under the late John Hatch for four years. Hatch was adamant that Barrett pursue a career as an artist, but after achieving a studio art minor, Barrett formed a high-tech marketing firm with two other partners where he worked as a Principal Creative Director for fifteen years. He was instrumental in helping to grow the company to over eighty employees, one of the largest marketing agencies in New Hampshire. Now retired from marketing, Barrett is pursuing his lifelong goal of being a full time artist. He has studied classical realism at the Ingbretson Atelier in Manchester NH for four years. He also spends considerable time painting landscape directly from life in all seasons.
