Item Description
Eliot Daley will offer four rounds of coaching for a virtual class of up to four individuals who would like to sharpen their submissions of both Letters to the Editor and OpEds. This four week Zoom course will include three weeks of LTE writing and one week of OpEd writing. He will give participants a different newspaper article each week, in advance of the class, for which participants will write either an LTE (first three weeks) or an OpEd (last week). These will be distributed in advance of each class to Eliot and fellow participants. During each weekly 90-minute Zoom (at a day/time determined to be mutually convenient to all concerned), each will read her/his piece, hear and absorb comments from fellow classmates and Eliot, and serve as critic for classmates’ writings.
Eliot has published books with Harper-Collins and Wm. Morrow & Co., as well as over a hundred OpEds and scores of LTEs which have appeared in national magazines (e.g., Newsweek, Time) and major newspapers (e.g., New York Times).
