This model represents the 1935 Auburn Model 851 made by the Auburn Automobile Co. of Auburn, Indiana, USA, a firm which operated from 1902 until 1936. The Auburn became one of America's best known cars after the company was purchased by Errett Lobban Cord (1894-1974) in 1924. The 851 was a sporty two-passenger boat-tailed speedster. This Franklin Mint model it represents was made of 100 separate parts. The supercharged straight-eight engine is finely detailed.
