Item Description
1963 Chevrolet Corvette part of the Precision Model collection.
Scale: 1:20
Die Cast by Franklin Mint. Previously owned Franklin Mint model car. #20
This is a model of the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray Coupe finished in Riverside Red. It was the first of the second generation Corvettes or C2s made between 1963 and 1967. The 1963 model had the famous boat-tail-shaped split rear-window with non functional bonnet air vents.
Some enthusiasts consider this Corvette body to be one of the most startling and engaging automotive designs of all time. It was the first year for the coupes and featured hidden rotating headlights and independent rear suspension. Luxury features were also included for the first time such as power steering, air conditioning and leather seats. This Franklin Mint model was introduced in September 1998 and discontinued in December 2001.
