The Ferrari 250 GTO produced by Ferrari in the early sixties, is both road and race car. It is considered the quintessential Ferrari and still is one of the most famous cars of all time.
The number, 250, is for the displacement of each cylinder in cubic centimeters. GTO stands for "Gran Turismo Approved". This code will not be later used for several years until the introduction in 1984 of the Ferrari 288 GTO. The 250 GTO was designed to participate in motor racing. For some, the best Ferrari of all time.
