Item Description

MEDIA: Wood (Wood burning)

DIMENSIONS: 18 inch circumference x 1 inch thick

WEIGHT: approximately 2 lbs

This piece is one of many I have started to create with my new hobby. My hobby is a healing one for not only myself, but when I sell them I use the money to help fund the Recovery Residence I started a couple of years ago. They are perfectly imperfect mandalas that I see and feel are a part of the many miracles that have happened in my profound recovery walk. I am excited to enter this piece as a possibility to get the art out there and help people know that the mission behind my art it is one of creating space for others to heal and to ""Hold Space for People in Recovery!"

Item Special Note

Artist Statement:  SLADE SKAGGS

My name is Slade Skaggs, and I am a person in long-term recovery.

I’m grateful to be able to express myself in many forms and fashions, and here recently, I started a personal hobby of doing mandala wood burning art. I love that my inner child gets to come out and play and that it allows me some time to unplug from the world around me and just be in the zone of creativity.

I own a Recovery Residence called Recovery Centered Living for men- finding a new way of life free from active addiction. I have been searching for a year to open a second home for men in recovery, and less than a month ago, the perfect property showed up!

I started a fundraiser for Recovery Centered Living and, of course, have big goals to reach. I couldn’t think of a better way to get closer to that goal than to use these beautiful art pieces. It’s a beautiful thing to witness that the artwork I’m doing to unplug and nurture myself would turn into a way to help give others a place to nurture themselves while in recovery as well!

So first come, first served!  Who would like to buy a piece of this custom Artwork to help support the expansion of RCL?
