Item Description
Gus (named unanimously by my boys) | On one side, in oil paint, I painted the view of the Edgartown Harbor Light, as I've captured it many times from my sailboat while sailing out of the harbor, adding some fun little dinghy sailboats. They make me smile because I picture my 3 boys in them, sneaking out of Katama Bay to Vineyard Sound. On the other side, I used house paint to show some of my favorite island dunes, with a cozy little Vineyard cottage added in. All of my dune paintings come from photos I've taken on Chappy--and the cottages I add in are all from Chilmark. This was not really done intentionally, its just what I loved on both ends of the island, and I seem to often marry them together in my paintings. A celebration of all parts of Martha's Vineyard on one wooden sea bass.
Artist: Lily Keller
Lily is a Vineyard Haven resident who paints primarily in oil paint, although sometimes branching out to different mediums for special projects. She is inspired by her time living on a sailboat, far away from wifi, and by the many island walks and drives she takes in the off-season. When not painting out of her Vineyard Haven studio, Lily is outside playing in the dunes, the water, or the woods with her three boys.
Item Special Note
This bass is two sided.
Images of both sides of the bass can be viewed on the full website - BiddingForGood.com only shows one image when viewing the mobile version of the site.
