Item Description
Blue Wave Moonlight
8"x10" paint and resin on glass
Inspired by colorful hues and randomness, each one of Karen des Jardins' paintings is as inviting and fascinating as it is unique. She works with acrylic paints on canvas using a floating cup technique and finishes her paintings with a high gloss epoxy resin coating. One of her paintings can perfect a modestly sized space by giving it a deeply engaging and unifying focal point. Likewise, her paintings can invite a closer look, drawing one deeper into a large space.
Karen des Jardins is an award winning artist who elevates crafting into fine art. She is a remarkable, talented, multifaceted person with the heart and hands of an artist and the mind of an engineer. As a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Karen serves as the Regional Chair in San Diego of the MIT Educational Council and as the Organizational Leadership Coach for our executive director, Jess Baron. She and her husband Stephen were the first contributors to support the launch of GITC's AMAISE training, Adaptive Music for Achievement in Inclusion and Special Education.
