This guitar is a show-stopper for its history alone! If you are a fan of Jason Mraz like we are, the chance to own his actual personal guitar from the Mr. A-Z tour is a big deal. Jason played his hit songs from that Gold Record "The Remedy" and "Wordplay" at Rockefeller Center on this guitar. You can watch that on YouTube, below.
Known as "The Surfer" this Taylor T5 gets its name from the distinctive surfer girl vinyl decal on the guitar’s face which Jason placed there soon after receiving the instrument. The Surfer is likely one of the first T5s to have come out of the Taylor factory - the model was released in 2005, but the serial number (20041213152) puts the production date as December 13th, 2004. Taylor has since discontinued the T5 line, making this guitar even more special. Jason has taken wonderful care of it over the years.
The Taylor T5 offers a wide range of tones from a warm, natural, acoustic tone all the way to electric humbucking tones, through the use of 2 magnetic pickups (the neck humbucker is hidden!), Taylor's Acoustic Body Sensor, and an onboard preamp with 5-way selector, 2 band EQ, and a volume control. The T5's versatility and incredible playability made it a favorite of Jason’s for a number of years.
Think about what it might feel like to play Jason's songs and yours on his guitar- except it would be YOUR guitar! And Jason has been sporting a Guitars in the Classroom guitar strap. These straps are no longer available but we will throw one in for the person who wins this instrument and funds music training for deserving teachers and students.

The "Surfer" is in very good condition and plays beautifully. It’s presented here as is, as we received it from Jason. It comes in it's original hard shell case which shows wear from life on the road, and is missing some tolex, but is structurally sound and has protected the guitar well all it's life.
