The Cape Coral Museum of History began operations in 1987, as an arm of the Cape Coral Historical Society, Inc. The museum, located in Cultural Park, provides a fun and enriching experience for all and helps tourists and residents alike look back at how we became who we are. As the only museum in Cape Coral that caters to the history of the area, we celebrate and honor all those who have made Cape Coral into a vibrant and fast-growing city.

Inside the museum, our guided tours explore the history of Cape Coral from the early Calusa Indians who lived off the land, to the homesteaders who tamed the land in the early 1900s, to the Rosen brothers who turned Cape Coral into the city we know and love in the 1950s/60s. Outside, we immerse our guests in the unique environment of Southwest Florida with guided tours of our natural gardens, which are cared for by Master Gardeners from Lee County, and our Rose Garden, which is cared for by the Garden Club of Cape Coral.
