It all began when Frannie was snuggled in her purple bed, in her purple bedroom, in her purple polka dot pajamas, under her purple bedspread. She had a really, really bad dream that there was no more PURPLE! So, of course, she woke up scared and crying. Her mom came running into her purple bedroom to see what was wrong. Then the best thing in the whole wide world happened. Her mom introduced her to Lavandula, A PURPLE angel doll. Now when Frannie is afraid she knows she always has Lavandula looking over her and it makes everything all better! Lavandula is a fancy name for Lavender, a beautiful PURPLE flower that is very calming whenever we are upset and it smells really, really yummy, and best of all, it is PURPLE! That is how Lavandula got her name and is so much fun to say!

LaRawn Scaife Rhea is Delta born and proud of her small town heritage She was blessed to spend most of her summers at her grandparents' loving home which was exactly six houses down the sidewalk from the Public Library. It was the Librarian, Miss Carolyn, who inspired her love of reading and writing. Miss Carolyn saw a timid young child who was easily frightened and at times, unknown to anyone, bullied by other children. Through books LaRawn found fun, mystery, and adventure. Her hope is that Lavandula will be comfort and a source of solace to all children who have fears or bad dreams. Based in Nashville, LaRawn is a Certified Protocol & Etiquette Consultant and a motivational speaker. Although she has spoken to members of Congress and thousands through TV appearances, one of her favorite speaking engagements was speaking to school children in South Africa and encouraging those precious children to be brave, study hard, and be the best they can be. Her favorite pastimes are reading, baking from her maternal grandmother’s original recipes, and traveling with her husband, Richard.
