Item Description

Vintage Paul Revere bowl is in excellent pre-owned condition, exhibiting small scratches and minor tarnish in keeping with its estimated age of 60 to 70 years.

This reproduction bowl is patterned after the original, hand-crafted by Paul Revere in 1768. The original “Liberty Bowl” was engraved with the names of fifteen members of the Sons of Liberty who commissioned it to celebrate the vote by the Massachusetts Assembly to disobey the king and not rescind a letter that was sent to protest against  “taxation without representation." The Sons of Liberty used the bowl to hold their rum at meetings. The iconic bowl endures in reproduction by many manufacturers, across many years, to serve many purposes.

Bowl measures 9" across the top, 5" high, and 5" at the base.

Base is marked with a lion, an anchor and the letter H (within a shield). Stamped Sterling.
