Item Description

The Stately Owls collection of limited-edition plates by award-winning artist Jim Beaudoin was issued in 1989-90, sponsored by the Society for the Preservation of Birds of Prey.  On fine china under the hallmark of the Edwin M. Knowles China Company. Offered here are the first three plates:  The Snowy Owl, The Great Horned Owl, and The Barn Owl.

Notes from the artist on the back of the plates:

The Snowy Owl:  In my painting of the Snowy Owl, I examined how Mother Nature provides camouflage by repeating her designs in the feathers of the bird and the windswept field.

The Great Horned Owl:  The Great Horned Owl is a fierce hunter and is impressive in size.  I tried to suggest these qualities in my portrait of this imposing creature.

The Barn Owl:  In my painting of the Barn Owl, I wanted to show how perfectly the bird fit into its natural enviroment.

Plates are 8.5" in diameter.  New condition in original packaging, never displayed. Not for food use.
