Item Description
Seven of these plates have views of famous sights in and around Boston--Harvard University, Kings Chapel, Faneuil Hall, Old North Bridge, Old View of Harvard College, Old North Church, and the Old State House. Bonus plate, not Wedgwood, pictures the home of George Washington's Mother in Fredericksburg, VA.
Five of the Wedgwood plates were made for the Shreve, Crump and Low Company in Boston. On the reverse appears "These Antique Engravings Especially Re-Introduced by Shreve, Crump, and Low, Boston. Wedgwood of Etruria and Barleston, Made in England". The other two have the same information, but not the Shreve, Crump and Low. The Virginia plate was made by Adams in England.
Plates measure about 10" in diameter. Condition is excellent pre-owned, no chips or cracks. Plates are intended for display only.
