Item Description

Dimensions: 8" x 10"

Encaustic painting is done with beeswax and pigment. The mixture is melted on a hot plate and then applied to a cradled board or piece of wood. As long as the wax is kept warm with a heat gun, it can be manipulated with a brush, a palette knife, or other sturdy tool. It must be cooled and dried before more wax layers can be added.
