Item Description
The Blue Brick Theatre hosts improv and stand-up comedy shows by Happy Valley Improv. Treat yourself and three friends to a night full of laughter in downtown State College!
Improv is a theatrical art form. It is made up completely on the spot by the improvisers on stage. There is no script; there is no pre-discussed plot; it is not sketch comedy or a written play. Though, when done well, sometimes it can seem that way!
ABOUT
Happy Valley Improv is State College's premier longform improv company. We are a growing community of improvisers who aim to bring the art of improv theatre to State College.
Happy Valley Improv started in the basement of a church when three improvisers came together and said, "hey, this could be fun." Andrea, James, and Sam started practicing weekly and were joined by Nate soon after, in the frigid month of January 2017.
Since then, we have performed a run of shows at the State Theatre, expanded our company, led workshops in various settings, and have begun to offer improv classes for the community.
In May 2021, Happy Valley Improv took over the lease at 209 W Calder Way in downtown State College and opened the Blue Brick Theatre. A big step in expanding the improv community in State College.
