Item Description
This sleek eagle is made of Bleikristall. Bleikristall means "leaded glass" in German.
After World War I, cut, colored glass was made in Germany and Bohemia, now the Czech Republic. It was made by adding a layer of colored glass over clear glass and cutting through to the clear. The lead in the glass helps to add refraction and sparkle to the glass once it is cut.
This piece has the eagle siting atop a frosted glass rock formation. The eagle and rock formation are both in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or repairs. The original 'Bleikristall 24% Made In Germany' sticker remains intact on the eagle with no peeling or visible wear. This is an excellent addition to any figurine collection, and one that will prove even more rare over time.
Measurements: 3" wide by 7.5" tall. 24% leaded crystal. Made in Germany.
