Item Description
Park Parent, Amon "Dr Splat" Millner has enjoyed a career of co-inventing and/or contributing to tools that enable young learners to explore computing and creative expression. He's kept a collection of circuit board prototypes + odds and ends in his research lab at Olin College from the development of Scratch, MaKey MaKey, Kibo, littlebits, Unruly Splats, Vex IQ, LEGO Mindstorms, and the platforms Arduinos and Micro:bits emerged from. The winning bidder will get an up-close look at early-stages of some of the technological tools used at Park, hear about the processes that go into creating them, and have a hands-on experience with modifying computer programs that can make motors move, lights blink, or buzzers beep in a variety of ways. The tool prototype tour and hands-on activity will take place between June 2022 and January 2023 at an agreed upon location (taking into consideration any pandemic-related precautions).
