Item Description
Instead of meandering through the vineyards, join big cat expert and Woodland Star parent Dr. Quinton Martins on a mountain lion mission. Meet at the True Wild Visitor Center for a presentation on San Francisco's North Bay mountain lion population based on the research of the Living with Lions Project headed by Quinton. Learn about these elusive big cats living right here in wine country. Find out about their lives, the benefit of top predators to an ecosystem, and the challenges they face in living in this fragmented environment.
Following the presentation, head out with Quinton on one or more mountain lion research activities which could include checking trail cameras, searching for kills made by lions, setting up a collaring cage, and possibly tracking a radio-collared lion.
