Item Description

For one week, you and your companion will travel halfway around the globe to experience Cambodia up close and personal with another winning bidder, a Sharing Foundation board member and In-Country Director, Elephant, as your guide. This trip has been created for friends of The Sharing Foundation that would like to experience firsthand the projects we do in Cambodia.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1:  The journey to Cambodia can take over 24 hours.  You will cross the international dateline, losing a day while traveling to Cambodia, a day you will recover on your return flight home. Upon arrival, private transportation will take you to your 5 star boutique hotel where you can settle in.

Day 2: We will start the adventure with a Tuk Tuk tour of Phnom Penh, visiting the Russian Market, the Royal Palace and the waterfront.  After lunch, we will learn a little about Cambodia’s more noteworthy history as we visit the Killing Fields Museum describing the Khmer Rouge Genocide.

Day 3: Today we visit Roteang village, home to many of our projects. We will start at The Sharing Foundation farm which is run by local farmers while their children attend the new Naomi elementary school.  Next, it’s the sewing center where uniforms and local crafts are made by TSF independent contractors.  Finally, we will end the afternoon at Roteang Children’s Center where we will do an activity with the kids before heading back to our hotel.

Day 4:  Today is up to you.  You can relax by the pool at the hotel, wander the streets in search of the best coffee shop and croissant, plan your own tour, visit a museum or shop at the Central Market.  We will relax over cocktails at the famous Elephant Bar in the Raffles Hotel and finish with a scrumptious Cambodian dinner.

Day 5: Join us as we drive about an hour north to catch a ferry and head across the Mekong River to a remote village where we will deliver uniforms to the local school and check in on the English Classes we support there.

Day 6: Today we will meet the university students and hear about their journey, how they came to be a university student sponsored by The Sharing Foundation and what their plans are for the future.  They will enjoy practicing their English with you as we all enjoy a lunch together.  Tonight will be our last dinner, so we will make it special in a very Cambodian restaurant not many tourists find!

Dates: The dates of the trip will be in 2023 on one of the three board trips we do each year, whichever is most convenient for the travelers.  Covid rates in both the US and Cambodia will be monitored to ensure the safety of our travelers and TSF staff.
