Item Description
One of a kind, rare opportunity!
This incredibly lovely sbai is donated to the The Sharing Foundation auction by our friends at the Angkor Dance Troupe in Lowell. A sbai is worn by classical dancers of the highest caliber over the shoulder. This is a hand made piece, with every sequin attached painstakingly by hand. About 4.5 feet in length, and surprisingly heavy, this sbai was worn in actual dance performances by the Angkor Dance Troupe’s Principal Dancer. Art in itself, it could be used to adorn one’s home as a wall hanging, or could be displayed atop a table. The first two pictures show the golden sbai, while the remaining photos show more about how a sbai is worn and its role in the history of Cambodian classical dance.
