Item Description
Own a rare and collectible piece of Mt. Mansfield's ski history; an iconic blanket from Stowe's famous single chairlift AND a single chair! This is a rare opportunity!
The Mt. Mansfield Single Chair was installed in 1940/41 and was retired in 1986. This has been lovingly restored and ready for display!
Skiers donned blankets for the 2,030' ride up the ski area's cold and windy face. The durable plaid wool that faced these blankets was woven at nearby Vermont's Johnson Woolen Mills. The outer is cotton canvas. In later years, local businesses could pay for advertising on the blankets. Sweet & Burt, Inc is screened on the front.
This blanket is from the 1970's/80's and shows normal wear and tear for a blanket that made thousands of trips up and down the mountain.
These items are privately owned and proceeds will be shared with VTSSM.
