Since the launch of the Global Justice Journal in 2020, our Scholar Development Initiative has served as the flagship program for our international outreach and advocacy efforts.  It was through this initiative that we were able to bring a youth peace project to Cameroon in the midst of civil war and, subsequently, host a historic peace summit that attracted more than 21,00 attendees worldwide and featured such notable speakers as Nobel Laureate Leymah Gbowee and Dr. Gary Mason, who was instrumental in bringing peace to Northern Ireland. Our work on behalf of Cameroon has been documented in a book entitled Shadow Schools of Cameroon: A Case Study in Pedagogical Game Theory, which is scheduled for publication in March 2023.

As a crucial next step in our ongoing efforts to use scholar development and pedagogy as tools to facilitate dialogue and mitigate conflict in the United States and abroad, Global Justice Journal Foundation has acquired use of a beautifully restored, turn-of-the-century building in downtown St. Charles, Illinois, which will serve as the site of our new Center for Pedagogical Research. In addition to the study of conflict mitigation and peacebuilding through pedagogical methods, the Center will also focus on the identification of giftedness in neurodiverse and at-risk youth. In this way, we will help young people discover their inner scholar and teach them to use their gifts rather than weapons to address the challenges they face.

The winner of this auction will have an opportunity to partner with us in this endeavor in a very unique and meaningful way, by having your name (or the name of a loved one) memorialized on building signage, event signage, press releases, public service announcements, marketing materials, educational resources, and all communications related to the work of the Center for Pedagogical Research. For every conflict we mitigate and peace summit we host, your name (or the name of a loved one) will be at the forefront and, moreover, will be associated in perpetuity with every step forward in the name of peace.

In addition, we will commission a photographic portrait of the person(s) for whom the Center is named, which will be displayed prominently in a mutually agreed upon location at the Center, AND treat the winning bidder and a guest to a weekend in the Chicago area, where you will attend a reception in your honor. This complimentary getaway will include business class airfare for two and two nights at the historic Hotel Baker.

What an extraordinary legacy for generations to come!
