Item Description
Treasure this piece of history: a handwritten musical phrase from the 2022 Tony Award-winning Best Musical A Strange Loop, signed by show's Tony-winning creator Michael R. Jackson. The musical made history when it won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2020, before its Broadway run. In A Strange Loop, Jackson tells the story of Usher, a Black queer man writing a musical about a Black queer man. Toward the end of the show, Usher moves the audience to tears, singing of "one lone, black, gay boy I knew/Who chose to turn his back on the Lord."
