Item Description
The late Stephen Sondheim is one of the most influential figures in American musical theater history revolutionizing the contemporary musical. With a career spanning more than six decades, Sondheim, who passed away last November, kept a private work life and offered very few peeks behind the scenes.
Signed by Sondheim, this framed portrait was taken by renowned photographer Rivka Katvan, one of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS' most ardent champions. Since 1993, she has donated more than 80 extraordinary portraits of Broadway's most beloved stars, helping raise more than $250,000 for Broadway Cares.
Take home theater history with this portrait of the "relentlessly innovative theatrical force" behind shows like Company, Into the Woods, A Little Night Music, Sunday in the Park with George, Sweeney Todd and dozens more.
