Item Description
A vivacious dancer, actor and singer, Gwen Verdon astonished audiences for decades with her ability to be funny or tender, sassy or seductive. She made her Broadway debut in Alive and Kicking in 1950, and would go on to originate famous roles such as Charity Hope Valentine in Sweet Charity and Roxie Hart in Chicago. Well-known for her collaborations with husband Bob Fosse, she won four Tony Awards for her roles in Can-Can, Damn Yankees, New Girl in Town and Redhead.
Debuting in 1959, Redhead starred Verdon in a role written specifically for her and featured the directorial debut of Fosse. You can own this theater treasure: an original Playbill from Redhead, signed by Verdon herself.
