Milliken Creek Inn's history dates back to the mid-1850s, when the Main House was used as the stagecoach stop on Old Mountain Road, now the famous Silverado Trail. Its proximity to the Napa River made it the perfect resting stop for weary travelers during California's Gold and Silver Rush years.
During the turn of the century, famed horticulturist Ira McKenzie took up residence at the home, leaving a legacy of beautiful tree specimens including our Japanese Maple, Live Oak, and Magnolia trees that are still alive today, as well as the Valley Oaks fronting the Silverado Trail.
It wasn't until 1980 that the house returned to its roots as a hostelry. In 2013, Milliken Creek Inn joined the prestigious Four Sisters Inn luxury collection as a premier pampering hideaway on the banks of the Napa River.
Milliken Creek Inn recently underwent a sweeping redesign to all guestrooms and shared spaces in Spring 2021. Custom-made furnishings, curated art, modern lighting and gorgeous hardwood floors are all enveloped by serene hues of the natural landscape. Perhaps the most notable are the new outdoor fire pits found on many of the private terraces and balconies.
The redesign is inspired to enhance the overall guest experience for the luxury traveler while creating curated and unforgettable memories for guests.
