Item Description
Forests, ponds, a labyrinth and paths await two people wishing to enjoy a night's stay at Earth Sanctuary on Whidbey Island, Washington. Come see how to "design with nature."
Located at the southern end of the island near Freeland, Earth Sanctuary, a nature reserve and retreat center, "combines exemplary ecological restoration with art and spirit" and has "created a sanctuary for birds and wildlife and a peaceful place for personal renewal and spiritual connection."
Earth Sanctuary was founded by long-time environmentalist Chuck Pettis as a way of personally taking reponsibility for enhancing biodiversity and creating a sustainable society. With a 500-year plan to restore the 72-acres of Earth Sanctuary to mature old-growth forest with maximum diversity of birds, wildlife, plants, and fungi, Earth Sanctuary is an exemplary model of and for ecological design.
Item Special Note
Scheduled stay for up to two people during 2010 calendar year. Meals not incuded. Kitchen facilities available.
