Welcome to Arrow Rock! The entire village of Arrow Rock has been designated a National Historic Landmark recognizing its association with Westward Expansion, the Santa Fe Trail and artist George Caleb Bingham. Called the Williamsburg of the Midwest, Arrow Rock is a microcosm of our nation's frontier experience.
Your overnight stay in Arrow Rock includes:
- One night's lodging at Borgman's Bed and Breakfast, Arrow Rock's first B&B. A comfortable and homey 1850s home owned and managed by Friends of Arrow Rock Executive Director Kathy Borgman. She features her mom's famous homemade cinnamon rolls.
- A personal tram tour of the village and sites by Borgman who has been the Exec. Dir. of the Friends of Arrow Rock since 1984. in 2004 she was honored with the highest state preservation award presented by the Missouri Alliance for Historic Preservation.
- A $25 gift certificate for dining at the Historic Arrow Rock Tavern called Huston Tavern. This 1834 structure was restored in 1923 making it Missouri's first historic structre preserved in the State Park System. Fried chicken is delicious!
- Two tickets to a performance at the award-winning Lyceum Theatre's 2009 season (June-September). This theatre is the oldest regional professional theatre in Missouri. Beginning in 1872 as the Christian Church, it now boasts a modern 408 seat theatre with Broadway caliber performances.
