Item Description
Enjoy the art and gardens of the Brandywine Valley in Chester County, PA and nearby northern New Castle County, DE with admission passes to the Hagley Museum & Library, the Brandywine River Museum, Longwood Gardens, Rockwood Historic Mansion and Garden, and the Winterthur Museum and Country Estate.
The Brandywine is nestled amidst the rolling hills of southern Chester County, PA, where the Battle of Brandywine was fought, and northern New Castle County, DE where the paper was milled for the Declaration of Independence and America's first currency. Here is where the duPonts made their fortunes, built their mansions, and where three generations of Wyeths have lived and painted the landscapes and people of Chadds Ford. Make a weekend of your visit and stay at charming inns or B&Bs, visit a local winery, explore antique shops, take long walks...there's so much to see!
The Brandywine Museums & Gardens Alliance (BMGA), colloquially referred to as the "Brandywine 10," is responsible for maintaining and updating the website devoted to the Beautiful Brandywine Valley. The BMGA is a group composed of marketing and public relations professionals from several cultural institutions in the region of northern Delaware and southern Pennsylvania. This group meets regularly in an effort to promote the Brandywine Valley, so rich in art, culture, history, and beauty, to an audience both local and national.
