Item Description
One of our most popular items from 2007's Reunion is BACK! Spend one week in fashionable Hampstead/north London and one week in gorgeous East Sussex in a genuine English cottage.
Hampstead is in North London, about 5 stops from Kings Cross Station, ten minutes on the tube from where you can get anywhere in London. It is on a hill and the site of Hampstead Heath, so there are great views of London from there. The house is about 3 minutes from the tube and about 4 minutes' walk to the Heath.
East Sussex is a county in South East England. It is bordered by the counties of Kent, Surrey, Brighton, Hove, and West Sussex, and to the south by the English Channel. The house is close to lots of fun stuff like castles, Rudyard Kipling's house, and all sorts of tourist/history attractions.
Property characteristics
•Both House and Cottage have 4 bedrooms
gn: none; text-autospace: none;">•Cottage sleeps up to 9
•House sleeps 8
Item Special Note
Hampstead has historically been the home to writers, artists and intellectuals - Karl Marx is buried in Highgate Cemetery nearby. It was established as a healthy spa village far away from the dirt and bad air of London, has since been absorbed by London but still retains its village feel. It is a great place to hang out. Sounds like a home away from home!
Famous past/present residents include Sigmund Freud, John Keats, George Orwell, Dusty Springeld, Boy George, Emma Thompson, Ralph Fiennes, Jamie Oliver, Kate Winslet and Peter O'Toole
